Political parties from Sundarharaicha submitted a ten-point memorandum to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Biju Kumar Thapalia yesterday. The brief program was conducted in the seminar hall of the central office of Purbanchal University, Gothgaun. The program was attended by local political representatives, social dignitaries, community people, university officials, and staff.
The memorandum, which outlines collective suggestions, recommendations, and commitments, calls for reforms including merit-based appointments of university officials, infrastructure repair and beautification, promotion of social entrepreneurship, and the operation of a medical college. It also highlights the effective utilization of the 805 bighas of university-owned land in Gothgaun. Additional points include the timely launch of the MBBS program with a detailed action plan and schedule, relocation of all university units to Gothgaun, establishment of an incubation center, and the declaration of the university as a strike-free zone.
During the interaction program held as part of the event, local political representatives and community members expressed their views and showed strong support for declaring the university a strike-prohibited area. Their unified voice underscored the importance of creating a peaceful and progressive academic environment.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Thapalia, upon receiving the memorandum, thanked all stakeholders for their initiative and support. He shared updates on ongoing efforts and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to implementing the proposed suggestions.
